Lahaul and Spiti is the district situated in the Indian state Himachal Pradesh. In earlier times two separate districts lahaul and spiti were merged and the district of lahaul and spiti was formed. The district headquarter is keylong in lahaul. This district was formed in 1960.

➤The entrance pass of spiti valley from lahaul is kunzum la. This district is also connected to Manali via Rohtang pass. This district has almost all area covered with forests so there we can see a lot of wild animals in this district area. The valley has snow leopard, foxes ibex, Himalayan brown bear, Himalayan blue sheep and musk deer. There are two protected areas in this region which is the homes of snow leopard that is Pin valley national park and Kibber wildlife sanctuary.

➤This district has a total area of 13833 square kilometres. This district has total population of 31,528 with density of 2.3 per square kilometres. It has sex ratio of 916 females per 1000 males. There is a literacy rate of 77.24% in this district. Generally there are bhoti and spiti bhoti languages are spoken in this district.

➤There are many tourist places in this district. Some main tourist attractions are kye, dhankar, shashur, guru ghantal, Khungri Monastery in Pin Valley, Tnagyud Gompa of the Sakya Sect in Komic, Sherkhang Gompa in Lahlung, the only Buddhist Mummy of a Monk in Gue around 550 years old, Chandra Taal Lake and many more. Some other famous places are Tabo Monastery and Kandang Monastery.

●There are also some adventure activities to do within this district. Travellers can do trekking in spiti valley which is famous for great adventure. Skiing and Yak safari are other adventure activities tourists can do there. Every year many tourists and bikers come to this district for spending their holidays.

➤How to Reach:

●Lahaul and Spiti district is connected to Sumdo (kinnaur district) for entry into spiti valley and from the other side this district is connected to Manali (kullu district) for entry into lahaul valley via road.

●This district can also be reached via air. The nearest airport is Bhuntar Airport in kullu.

●Also, lahaul and spiti distrct can be reached by train. The nearest railway station are Jogindernagar, Shimla and Chandigarh.

BILASPUR (HIMACHAL PRADESH) Map of Bilaspur District (H.P.) Bilaspur  is a district of the Indian state Himachal Pradesh . It is situated in  Shivalik  range of lower Himalayas.
